Im sampling a cellar temp 12 oz can of this beer. Purchased at a beer shop in Pennsylvania over Christmas Holiday. Date stamp on can is difficult to read, but looks like 10/03//2024.
Pouring the beer into my snifter.
The beer gushes a little on the can popping open. Didnt expect that and made my table a mess. Lost about 1.5 oz. Not a great start.
The beer pours a clear mahogany color with a creamy khaki colored head of almost 3 cm foaming up from the pour. This foam slowly fades to a sturdy edging and leaves some windowpane lattice.
Aroma on the beer is toffee, sweet bourbon, some light cherry scent too. Not fusol nor boozy and no hint of hops on the nose.
First sip reveals a medium to light body with very smooth texture and fine tingly carbonation, feels a little more like soda than beer, especially the carbonation.
Flavor is similar to the nose, some toffee and bourbon with a little general sweetness and definitely some cherry notes here. Hops are absent and not boozy nor warm. Well hidden ABV. This is an interesting beer, and I think it hits the mark for old-fashioned inspired. Does lean more cocktail-esque than a beer to be honest. But Im still enjoying it.

Just shy of two fingers worth of ultra lush creamy light khaki colored froth... Solid retention gives way to a lopsided splotchy lacing... Color is a medium to dark brown... Nose of orange peel, brown sugar, maple syrup and faint bourbon notes... Quite an inviting warm aroma... Palate introduces fudge and chocolate notes... Pwrhaps some dark fruit notes as well... All the other notes from the nose are present, but a bit understated... Full bodied and sturdy with just a touch of carbonation... Very nice all around highly enjoyable beer...
