Crystal clear gold, nearing amber, with a tall khaki head of foam.
It's almost a little toasty, with a sort of seedy dankness, backed by a hint of biscuit and pine, but still overall citrusy, refreshingly prickly and semi-bitter.
Oh my, that's a unique profile for Head Hunter, like a slightly cleaner, crisper White Rajah...? Honestly, regular HH is more tropical than this, itself giving pineapple notes at times, while this variant seems more traditional West Coast or even Midwest.

Pours a bright, effervescent gold with 2+ fingers of fluffy pearl colored head. Stellar head retention & lacing
S: Guava, papaya, melons, fades a little down the stretch
T: Follows the nose, some grassy notes, a little tangerine & dryness up front. A little pink grapefruit sneaks in along with papaya, dryness & grassy notes once this beer warms up, hints of peach as well. Finishes with a little orange, some pineapple & a little dryness & grassyness, a little melon too
MF: Medium body, dialed back carbonation, good balance, body thins a bit once warm
Pretty drinkable, doesn't pull together for greatness, but not far from the mark

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 11/11/2024. Pours lightly hazy golden amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention. Lasting cap and dense soapy lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, mandarin orange juice, peach, pineapple, passionfruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, blueberry, pear, red apple, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread, herbal, floral, grass. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, woody, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and body; balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky/resinous hop mouthfeel. Lingering resin dryness with no hop astringency. A lot smoother/juicer and not as resinous as the base beer. Balanced vibrant, juicy, and dank Simcoe, Centennial, Mosaic, Citra, Chinook, El Dorado, and Galaxy hops. Still ends fairly crisp and dry on resins, and more drinkable with the lower 6.5% ABV. Minimal warming alcohol.

Reslly not much here, a bit (and i mean just a tad) of tropical notes in your standard headhunter ipa. I'll stick with the stsndard over this one.

12 FL. OZ. can
Served in a tulip glass
This beer pours a brilliant golden hue. It has a slight chill haze and is topped with half a glass of off-white head that leaves rings of lacing as I consume.
Tropical and citrus fruit aromas
Tropical fruit upfront with some grapefruit on the ass end.
Medium to lighter bodied with a smooth mouthfeel
Great version of Head Hunter

Pours a straw colored yellow with a light head which quickly dissipates.
Only slightly hazy.
Smells of tropical fruit, particularly pineapple.
Fresh tropical taste, with only a slight bitterness.
Refreshing on a hot summer day.

Poured from a 12 oz can.
Outstanding appearance for an IPA, with very slight haze in a straw-colored beer and piles of fluffy head and lace. Strong aromas are all about the hops: grapefruit, guava and tangerine. Flavors are hop forward as well, but tend to grapefruit and orange, without much tropical fruit, and don't have much depth. Medium to light body with off-dry finish, sharp hops bitterness, and low alcohol presence. This is a very nice West Coast IPA with some tropical character.

A - Slightly hazy, but still mostly transparent orange body, a white head that fades to a thin cap, with extensive lacing.
S - Tropical fruit, mango primarily, but also pineapple, and stone fruit, peach mostly.
T - Super bright fruit open, then some malt based sweetness, that fades to a pithy bitter finish.
M - Moderate weight and sharp carbonation, followed by a lingering resin build.
O - Perhaps my favorite Head Hunter so far, with these least punishing bitterness, and fullest fruit notes. The result is drinkable and delicious.

It's a nice variation on the original Head Hunter. I'd put this somewhere between original Head Hunter and Jungle Juiced Head Hunter. It keeps the enjoyable bitterness with a kick of Tangerine.
