Inspired by the Irish ales of yore, St. Fatty's is deep mahogany in color with a malt profile consisting of toast, toffee and caramel flavors with the added touch of roast barley for a semi-dry finish. Smooth, sessionable, Slainte!

12oz can poured into a SA perfect pint

A- pours a deep copper color with a one finger creamy off white head that has good retention

S- toasted bread crust, caramel, toffee, grassy and floral hops, raisins

T- sweet and malty up front with notes of caramel and toffee, followed by some toasted bread crust, brown bread & raisin. Mid-palate gives some floral hop undertones. The finish gives more caramel and bread, with some raisin on the linger

M- light-medium body with medium carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that continues into a crisp finish

O- outstanding example of the style, full flavored and well balanced

12 oz can poured into a shaker pint glass. Canned on 01/03/24 11:33.

Appearance: Clear dark copper-red amber color, thick light tan head, some strands and islands of lacing noted.

Smell: Malty - maybe a little floral with a very small metallic note.

Taste: Quite sweet. Lots of malt (toasted, bready), with some mild tea-like bitter notes at the finish and again a little bit of a metallic / iron note.

Mouthfeel: Good carbonation that scrubs the palate, good thickness and a little chewy.

Overall / Drinkability: A bit overly sweet, but easily drinkable. By itself I find it needs something - probably some food, so alone it's one-and-done, but with the right savory food to compliment all the sweetness, I could see potentially having another.

12 oz can served in a goblet.

Appearance. Clear, dark, reddish-brown body topped by a good but ephemeral off-white head.

Moderately strong flavor for the style despite above average bitterness and below average caramel. Medium-full body with near medium carbonation.

Slightly more than a fingers worth of lush light khaki colored froth... Excellent retention... Color is a rich warm caramel with a slight cherry hue... Malt forward nose of caramel and bread... Flavor profile is consistent with the Jose but the malts was is dialed a few additional notches... Medium bodied and smooth with some prickly carbonation... Decent, straight forward and enjoyable...

Poured out of a 12 oz. can into one of my pint glasses, this beer pours a mostly clear, fairly dark amber red/copper color with a fluffy, slight off-white head that's about an inch when first poured. Settles eventually to a very thick ring lining the inside of the glass along with a thick layer of surface foam and a shit load of lacing. Aromas of toasted, bready malts w/ some caramel sweetness to be sure along w/ a note of nuttiness and some herbal, floral hops. The taste is pretty much the same, with bready, toasted caramel malt sweetness, a nice bit of nuttiness, and some fairly subtle floral, herbal hops that balance this out w/ just the right amount of bitterness. The malt notes do come out a bit more as this beer sits and warms up a bit. Has a fairly crisp, also smooth, medium bodied mouthfeel w/ moderate carbonation. Has an overall clean finish and all the flavors linger nicely after each sip.

I got a 6pck of cans of this beer from my local meijer store. It poured a clear amber with thin white ring head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had subtle sweet malt notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright caramel malt base and subtle bitter hop finish. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Pours a beautiful reddish brown color with a big two finger head. The nose has grassy notes but there is also a touch of sour on the back end. The sour note appears more intrusive in the flavor profile. The lightness of the body made the sourness stand out more.

I checked the date on the can just to make sure that I didn't get a year old seasonal by mistake - alas, this offering was only about two months old.

This is an excellent session beer. Pours a nice 2 finger head with tons of lacing down the glass. Scents are those of a spring Marzen, faint and metallic. Other than that, this is very good. Banana, light cherries, and amber nuts on the pallet. Uncannily smooth with zero aftertaste and well balanced. The hops are used appropriately, to balance the beer and not bastardize it. Nice offering by Fat Head’s, again!

Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is amber, head is off white with fine bubbles, head presents 1 finger thick, then dissipates to thing ring along the glass sides.

Smell is crisp, clean caramel, then solid toffee, slight nuttiness, limited earthy-ness.

Taste is similar with caramel, toffee, nutty malt, earth/grassy bitterness; not overly sweet and fairly crisp/bitter.

Mouthfeel is moderate/strong carbonation, moderate sweetness, moderate bitterness/crispness/carbonic bite.

Overall a very pleasant and easy drinking malty ale - a traditionally styled Irish ale that lives up to it.
