Imperial Oatmeal Stout

I just got a sample of this one, out of the beers I tried this was the highest gravity. Poured pitch black, no light came through my glass even when held toward the light, dark tan mocha colored head. Fine speckled lacing dispersed in my 16 ounce nonic pint glass. Aroma has big roasted malts going on, creamy dark chocolate, assertive coffee mild espresso dark roasts, nearly burn grains but done right. Herbal mineral quality is there as well. Flavor was smooth big dark roasted malts with extreme balance and bit more girth than your average oatmeal stout, booze is well hidden. Mild fruit character, dark dry roasted malts, brings the dark chocolate, mild coffee, and earthy herbal qualities into play. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied the oatmeal adds much texture that I definitely appreciated, smooth overall flow carbonation is well incorporated very natural feel to it. Overall, immensely enjoyed, great big beer, great dark beer get some while it lasts.
