Pours a pitch black color in the snifter with a very thin and delicate toffee colored ring around the brim.
Dark roasted chocolate aroma with some tropical fruit. The beer was poured way too cold so whatever aromatic nuances there are muted for the time being until the beer warms up.
Pineapple, delicate coconut, and light citrus blends with dark chocolate roast and a slight amount of dark fruit blend. The aftertaste is a blend of light tropical fruit and dark chocolate char.
Medium body and almost non-existent carbonation.
Definitely not a stout that fits into any sort of mold and hats off to the collaborators who decided to push the envelope with the style, always fun to experience. Not bad by any means, not stellar...just plain "interesting".

Draft offering at Fat Head's in pittsburgh, served in a snifter. The brew appears black in color with a tan cap. Some spotty lace holds on the glass and a thin film rests atop.
The aroma is sweet almost like a fruity pineapple mixed with coconut. As more whidds are taken, that sweet lactose note mingles in the nose with suggestions of chocolate. Somewhat more roasted and earthen notes come out as it warms.
The taste is sweet with raisony alcohol someehat fruity before chocolate takes hold. Some lactose sweetness is present giving it that milk stout sort of feel but with wven more residual sugars tgat interplay with tropical notes like coconut and pineapple.
This is a medium bodied brew with a modest amount of carbonation. It was interesting and worth trying but the sweetness held it back a bit overall for me to want and have more than 1 go at it. The alcohol was hidden quite well and if you have a sweet tooth, I could see this one hitting the spot.

Collaboration with Troeg's
Pours jet black with a tan head. In the aroma, a sweet roast and a small coconut presence. In the taste, a sweeter roast and a small coconut presence. A small bit e and a medium bodied mouthfeel, with a dry roast and note of coconut in the aftertaste. The sweet roast matches the coconut presence, quite balanced.
