Pours a dirty colour, gold with a slight green tinge. Cream head, large bubbles that doesn't stick around. Interesting but a bit listless.
Lots of cereal grain on the aroma. Touch of caramel with slight pear-tinged fruit character. Definitely rice notes with an intriguing subtle tang.
Taste is grainy as well, with cereal notes. Touch of sourdough heading towards the mid-palate where it gets quite inevitably yeasty. Very subtle green tea tang towards the end, but not enough. Just tastes a bit yeasty and bland.
Tingly carbonation shows through a quite thin body. Pretty much what I expected but it's still lacklustre.
Interesting idea, not wonderfully executed. Frankly though I could see the Alstrom brothers going crazy over a beer like this.
