a decent cream ale, not quite clean on the fermentation, kind of like their more popular red ale, but not a bad beer overall, lighter than the others i had here, and pretty simple, beer flavored beer, novel thought! golden in color, short but frothy white head, lightly floral aroma, but not overtly hoppy or anything. there is a little soapy character to this, like the fermentation is a little off, but the base is solid, and its a little more sturdy than other cream ales out there while also being quite minimal. i liked this better in a food context, weird pizza to be specific, im not sure it would be very compelling on its own, its just kind of amateur overall in terms of quality, and this is a style i really want to be well made, there is nowhere to hide flaws or anything, and they stand out to me a little in this one. off dry, decent carbonation, lightly metallic at the end, but not way off, and nice to have something a bit lighter on their menu in here among the stouts and bocks and such...
