A darker, maltier version of the Weizen bier with the same banana and clove characteristics. It's less sweet, but has a wonderful roasted flavor.

Draught @ Hofbrauhaus Pittsburgh: This one pours a cloudy dark golden color. There was a good sized off white head that left lots of lacing. The nose is good. Clove, wheat, spices, wheat, banana and a hint of roastiness. The taste is good. Wheat, banana, a light spiciness, clove and a hint of roastiness. A nice variation of a hefeweizen.
