Clear reddish amber color with a dense tan-tinted head. Sweet malt, Italian bread and a hint of must in the nose. Sweet tasting. Medium bodied. Too sweet for my taste.

tap

Pours clear amber with a white film for a head.

Smells of coppery malts, buttered bread, and toffee.

Flavor follows, toffee, caramel, buttered bread malts. Very mild hop presence.

Medium body with a tingle of carbonation on the tongue.

Solid marzen. Nothing to write home about, but quenches the thirst and pairs well with German fair. A step above the standard house fair, so grab it in the spring if you are in for a meal.

Draught @ Brewpub: This one pours a clear orangish-amber color. There was a big off white head that left lots of lacing. Good nose on this one. Malty, floral and grassy hops. the taste is good. It is well balanced. Malts, grainy, earthy. A good Marzen.

A great example of how to properly brew a Märzen beer.
