This is a very nice pub and outlet for the Taps beers (listed under the Taps Brewery). Overall, it is rather like a US brewpub except that the decor is quite simple and rather chic/modern inside, lacking the beer memorabilia that most US brewpubs seem to have.

Also, although apparently Taps started out brewing their beer at the pub location, they have now reoganized so that there is a chain of pubs with one central brewery elsewhere supplying the beer to the pubs and other businesses.

The place itself is nice, a three-storey, attractive, modern place in Bebek, a very chic part of Istanbul, right on the Bosphorus, with nice views across the water and down to the Bosphorus Bridge. Each floor has nice windows and seats to allow views.

The food is mostly like typical US brewpub fare, an eclectic mix of various things, burgers, pastas, a lot of different salads, etc. It is a little more Continental (esp Italian), though and has a dash of Turkish cuisine thrown in. Overall, the food we had was very good but not outstanding.

The beer selection is their own Taps line of beers but it's not large at any time. They have I think 4 beers on tap at any given time plus three in bottles and the styles are pretty standard compared to US brewpubs. The menu, though, had about 20-30 different beers that they do make. However, since it's otherwise hard to find beers of these types (Turkey mostly has pale lagers, pilsners, etc, and macro imports like Bass, etc), the variety can be nice for a beer drinker in Turkey. When we were there, they had Cream Ale, Kolsch, Red Ale, and another.

The beers are mostly similar to US micro beers in styles and character. They are not bad, but not great, and are pretty average, or slightly better than average, for American micro-brews or brewpubs.

Service is excellent, very friendly and efficient, as is common in Turkey.

The prices are reasonable by US standards, although rather high by Turkish standards.
