Not sure if this is a rebranding of the Postel Tripel, but is certainly different to the standard Affligem Tripel, so have added here and will open the batting on the ratings.
First thing to note is the appearance is very clear and light for a tripel, with a small retaining head, almost dare I say it 'lager' like!!
The aroma is quite unique, very malty and yeasty, so much so it actually smells like a yeast extract. I like it, but not necessarily prior to a quaff of the brew.
The taste is clean and sharp and only a slight malt on the tongue. The alcohol can just be sensed, like any good tripel, but generally a refreshing brew.
Overall this is a pretty fine beverage from what is now a mass producer across Northern Europe....albeit not quite on same scale as Leffe (yet).
Worth a sample?, I'd say so.
Two Boofs! on The Bujon scale!
