On tap at the source.
Hazy dark straw color with a decent sized frothy white head.
Earthy honey maltiness with bits of lemon and spice to counter. Not bad.

330 ml red bottle, as Brasserie de Monaco Blanche Tradition, from Vaaland, Bryne, thanks to gunnar. ABV is 4.7%. The bottled beers are brewed in France by Brasserie Meteor for Brasserie de Monaco. Hazy and extremely pale straw colour, moderate to low white head. Nice citrussy and wheaty aroma, notes of banana, cloves and coriander. Refreshing citrussy and wheaty flavour, medium dry and light bodied, moderate spicy notes, minimal hops.

On-draught @ the brewpub.

Light-bodied and refreshing, with a citrusy emphasis and a clean wheat malt backbone. A good summer brew, and Brasserie De Monaco's best amongst the three I tried.

Third and final beer at the brewpub on 18th Sep 2013 (they only had three beers to choose from).

Came in the same 0.3 litre tall glass as the other beers: misty pale yellow with a white head and a slice of lemon.

Taste and aroma had a tangy citrus feel to them: the lemon slice might have had something to do with that at first, but it finished just as citrusy as it started, so i doubt it.

OK, without being a show stopper: not a beer I'd have again even though it was thirst quenching and fine in the bright sunshine outside the brewpub.

Order this first but wound up with the amber. Moving on to the wit from the malty amber was difficult.

Hazy straw yellow with 1/2 finger white foamy head. Not much on the aroma at all.

Sweetness in the first sip with very little wit character. Not a very good beer.

Hazy pale golden, served with lemon inside, small and creamy head with good retention, nice patchy lacing. Aroma is simple lemony wheat malt with some spice.

Taste is spice, sweet lemon malt with low hops, crisp and clean. Mouthfeel is light-medium with high carbonation.

Overall, the beer is very clean and very refreshing, as a good Witbier should be.
