Picked this up in Menton at a little store during the citrus festival this year. Best by Aug 2012.
A-Pours a slightly hazy yellow-gold and fizzes like a soda. Attractive bottle with what looks like a watercolor featuring a mermaid on the label.
S-Light pale malt and wheat, hint lemon and orange, faint spice. I can't tell if the spice is added ("spices" is an ingredient on the list on the back label) or if it's from the yeast. There is also a faint citrus flavor (obligatory for any beer called "la Mentonnaise" since that's what this town is known for).
T-Pale malt and lemon, and malt, faint orange peel and spice in the finish. Fresh aftertaste.
M-Good hoppy dry finish, pleasant through the finish, intense carbonation...a perky little beer.
Overall-A good session summer brew. The subheading on the bottle is "sun beer."
