Cool to see some more experimental beer coming out of Spain. When I was there it was almost exclusively Damm.
A- Blood-stained 12oz bottle drops a golden-light-orange, hazed-like-juice brew into my wine glass. A thick, tall white head forms with a creamy texture and good retention. A large web around the top with spots beyond it.
S- Hops up front as one might expect with an interesting mix of fruits (tropical, stone) and an herbal minty tone. Clementines, orange, lime, slight mango and pale cereal grains.
T- I have to say this is pretty much a sea change from the aroma due to an under-fermented yeasty homebrew-like off flavor of apple, grapes and bread (not in the right way). The hops are about even with this and the profile shifts a bit with more of an apricot, pine and floral feel with hints of juicy stone and citrus fruits.
MF- Light-medium bodied with a high-end carbonation level. The bubbles promote a foamy and slightly frothy texture. Moderately bitter.
The aroma was drastically different from the flavor for me and I find that to be rare in this style. They call it a real IPA and I can only imagine that refers to live yeast in the bottle but to me it just creates fruit flavors that interfere and/or don't blend smoothly with the hops.
