Ca l'Arenys "Embrasse Sour"
on tap at BierCaB, Barcelona, Spain on 26 November 2015
25 cl Teku glass for 4€
Notes: Clear mahogany body with ruby highlights beneath a white head that displays fairly good retention... and even better than that considering it's a sour beer. Very nice spotty lacing is left behind. Aroma of acidity, dark skinned fruit, leather, earth, straw, and mild tobacco (I'm guessing there's some Brettanomyces in play). The flavor is fruity with raisin, fig, cherry, plum and a lightly sweet malt with dark caramel and a hint of candy. There's not a lot of bitterness but the acidity cuts through leading to a dry finish with lingering red and dark fruit. Mild yeasty chalkiness. Light-medium body with an effervescent, fine-bubbled median carbonation that lends a bristle to the tongue.
