Nice looking deep amber colour, with a scant off-white head. Slim retention, but a glass-swirling ring remains with moderate lacing. Nose wafts burnt candied sugar and ethanol, with a fairly dominant artificial cherry/cough syrup like quality that is quite off-putting. Taste is similar, with that cough syrup and heat quality. Remarkably undrinkable. Syrupy and sticky.
Granted: as a Quebec import that likely suffered a long delay, I am willing to accept that some changes may have resulted but it doesn't taste like stale hops, so I don't know what I'd expect if fresher.

500ml #1239 bottle. ½ Pint glass. Brought from Mediona Beer Fair 2012. Enjoyed on jun´12. Deep orange color. Hazy. Creamy, yellowish beige froth. Thick & lasting crown. Caramel malt & citric aromas then increasing resiny, piney, yeasty aromas are shown. At first sip, resiny hops meet your tongue while orange fragancy touch your nose. Voluptuos & oily palate. Medium body, soft carbonation. Caramel malt, tangerine & grapefruit flavors in the middle dance with gentle hoppiness. Dry malty finish with subtle astringency. ABV is well hidden by delightful flavors. Pour sediments at last drop & experience an smooth orangish honey juice flavor.
