Soo this is Mob Barley 2014. Upped 11% ABV. Batch 502. 112 IBUs.
A - 330ml to snifter. Very hazy dark brownish-red. A very thin beige head forms, a spotty cap retains for much of the duration. Decent lace left.
S - Dark fruit, chocolate malt, even kinda roasty, touch of caramel, touch of alcohol, kinda big earthy and fruity hop, bread. Pretty faint, not all much like a barleywine, but not bad.
T - Taste is a bit stronger than the scent but flavors are similarly indistinct and faint. Dark fruit, grape, earthy+grassy hops, and bread dominate with kind of a generic sweet malt blanket over all. Still a bit of roasted malt there as well.
M - Quite malty but not the smoothest beer. Decent feel with low-end carbonation. Some alcohol heat but not all bad for the 11%. Pretty hop bitterness, really quite muted flavor-wise.
O - It's decent, but muddled and weirdly faint. The high bitterness seems out of place, the malt flavors aren't very impressive, just doesn't feel full enough for a barleywine. At 11% though, this was pretty easy to put down a bottle of.

330ml Bottle. Snifter glass. Enjoyed on mar“13. Pours dark mahogany in color & beige headed. Aroma profile is great: toasted malts, hints of ripe apricot, figs & prunes, brown sugar & molasses, fresh black tobacco & cocoa touches. Sweet malts on the upfront are overwhelmed by sharp hoppiness. Full body. Soft carbonation. Thankfully cocoa & malts come back in the middle to balanced bitterness. Then, hops & malts get along well into a long finish. Texture is oily, neither sugary nor acidic. Fruity aftertaste. ABV is incredible well hidden. Flavorful & complex as a Wine should be.
