A brew that has a great name at least, albeit disappointing. A 330ml into a pint glass from the West Coast Restaurant.
Appearance- The body is black with amber highlights as the light hits it. There isn't any meaningful head retention or lacing. However there is enough carbonation to carb a keg, but seriously it was quite excessive.
Smell- A big nose of roasted and burnt coffee grounds. There is also some chocolate.
Taste and Mouthfeel- Similar to the nose but the beer had a very dry sapping finish with some roasted grain coming through. The carbonation really is excessive and imparts a metallic taste into the brew.
Drinkability- For being a "common man's beer" this is pretty off, unless you enjoy roasted/burnt characteristics in your beer.
