Pours a fully clouded brown hued orange. Flavor is kind of a darker honey thing. Malty character. Overall fairly earthy, but the mature sweet tone really stays prevalent. Feel is a bit thicker on the liquid and the carbonation is decent I guess. This beer is okay. I mean, it's a bit too rough and earthy and not as smooth as I would want it to be. Probably my least favorite of the three beers this brewery has out.

Beer two in a 0.2 litre glass, part of a five glass flight at La Trappist, Brugge on 30th Jan 2014.
Dark brown body with a fast fading white head.
Fairly sweet nose and taste, caramel and fruitiness lead the way with a toffee coating for good measure. The yeast kicks in mid-sip, but this is a beer my sweet tooth like, for others it might not work so well, especially the hop bomb guys.
Medium bodied and for me a very pleasant second beer within the litre flight.

This beer was very nice. The pour was a really nice looking orange color white billowing white head at first that settles and leaves a decent lacing. The body of the beer is hazy and had some flakes that were getting kicked around by the bubbles rising to the top. The smell of the beer is floral and fruity with some bready yeast on the nose. The flavors of fruity sweetness swirls around into a hoppy bitterness. The flavors mixed very well together. The mouthfeel was on the lighter side, with a good carbonation. Overall I really enjoyed this beer.'surprised that more people haven't reviewed this on here.

A center pour gets you a half finger of pure white foam, not inclined to stay until the end of the party, visually interesting in how it pools in the middle rather than break into islands, the lacing is light but in keeping with the type. Bright orange color mostly masks the tiny floaties throughout the liquid, holds that zinc tint well and avoids yellowing out around the rims, can't see a damn thing through it. Sweet clove, coriander spices in the nose, soft leesy notes, more so floral with milk chocolate, honey and then apricot, honeydew, pear, peach fruit scents, really not over the top sweet-wise but, conversely, doesn't show any peppery or grassy elements for harmonious balance. Light-bodied but there's major fluff factor to the carbonation which not only gets it pushing up towards your mouth's roof but kinda trying to escape the mouth per se too. More emphasis on the purity of the fruit here, apricot, peach, pear, yellow apple, white grape make for a nice center to the beer. In fact, almost takes on a more vinous character, the orange juice fits this but the golden honey and molasses would have to represent an overoaked Chardonnay or something. There is that certain lichen, damp meadow earth thing but it's gossamer thin. Basically, this is "fruit bomb" styled beer that can please lots of peeps but will likely be found lacking by those seeking more nuanced complexity.

Bottle. Pours a clear orange with a small ring of white head. Aroma of sweet fruits, melon, and yeast. Flavor of more melon and sweet yeastiness, a pretty typical Belgian really. Doesn't live up to those other Brouwkots but I guess it's still chill overall.

Somewhere around 9 SRM in color. Slightly hazy brass. Short head of bright white holds shortly and then drops to a wide creamy collar and whispy surface covering. Very tiny bubbles stream steadily upwards.
The aroma is clean, fresh, and grain-like with just a hint of honey-suckle, a soft fruitiness like crisp dry apples and apricot, and a waft of grassy hops.
The flavor is fuller with a sweet dollop of light caramel and honey, and a bit of earthiness. It's sweetish, but not really sweet as some lemony flavors rise midway to cut through it's caramel-custard-like maltiness (think flan). It's grounded by a delicate underlying bitterness. It finishes dry with a memory of the sweet caramelish malt on the tip of your tongue as dusty, earthy notes rise, then a flicker of subtly metallic and grassy hops, and finally some soft, crushed-granite-like mineral-dryness as it fades.
In the mouth it's very supple and smooth with a medium-light body and a very fine-bubbled natural carbonation that delicately caresses the tongue, adding to an increased perception of its maltiness.
Overall it's a really interesting beer. It's remarkably drinkable straight-away, but it's also fairly complex with many different components appearing from the sweetish start through to the lingering, earthy and dusty finish. Exceptional! Absolutely worth seeking out! And for the price (I paid $17.95 at BierKraft in Brooklyn), it's absolutely worth it to try enjoy a Belgain beer that's hard to find even in Belgium! Get it while you can.
