From the brewery in a growler and enjoyed in a snifter.
This nice little ale pours a deep dark mahogany with a very nice head of off
white foam that subsides to a thick ring, thin sudsy pool, and features some
nice sudsy lacing. Nose of earthy malts, brown sugars, toasted malts, and subtle
orchard fruit notes pf ripe peaches. Flavors lightly exceed the nose with sweet
brown sugar and toasted malts awash in medium dark breaded malt notes
mixed with a touch of cream and subtle alcohol warmth and a dash of herbal hops.
Very nice mouth feel; smooth, lightly creamy, medium effervescent carbonation, and a sweet finish that
is pleasant without being overly cloying.
Overall, a nice interpretation of a Scottish ale and fairly well balanced.
An excellent addition to the brewery landscape of Cincinnati and a
welcome spot in Anderson. Worth checking out just for the service
and niceness of the staff.
Cheers
