From the growler via the brewery in a snifter. This mighty nice little stout pours a
deep rugged black with brown highlights and a nice head of off white to light tan
foam that settles to a thick ring, thin pool, and features nice sudsy lacing. Nose of
moderately charred malts, subtle coffee, a touch of cocoa, and roasted earthy malts.
Flavors hit the right notes for the style with cocoa and subtle coffee touched by char
with subtle sweetness from the malt and a touch of the standard bitterness and light
chalk note known for the style. Solid mouth feel; medium full body, moderately coating,
smooth, medium light carbonation to keep things lively, and a bitter char touched malt
finish. Overall a SOLID representation of the style and what I look for in a good stout.
Nice!
Cheers!
