An extremely intimate, two storied dark lit place, Six Acres offers the beer drinker 43 varieties from the bottle, but no draught beers. Even the bathrooms are very small and fun to walk into. After Steamworks made their last call, I walked over to Gastown to find this bar filled with a younger crowd drinking craft beers and other drinks.
The bottle list is varied by country, with beers from Australia (Little Creatures!), United States (Deschutes, North Coast, Dogfish Head), Canada (Propeller, St. Ambroise), Scotland (Traquair House), Belgium (Saison Dupont, Orval), and a few others. I saw a couple pieces of glassware being used, but all I got was this boring stange-like glass for my two beers. Neither of the bottles I had were in bad shape, so that was good.
While there's no place to sit at the bar, the guy making the drinks was very easy to order from, and my table server was equally hospitable. Food is also served here, but I didn't go for any.
There's a big statue in front of Six Acres, so the place may be hiding behind the statue, depending which angle you're coming from. It's a good little place (and I mean little!) to try some beers from around the world in a great atmosphere.
(Did I mention this was my 200th BeerFly?)

Some friends and I stumbled upon this place in Gastown a while back and were pleasantly surprised with what we found.
The place is a cozy little two-storey, bohemian, beatnik style room with lots of old paraphernalia on the walls and uses old book covers to bind their menus between - this makes for a very interesting and unexpected experience.
After taking a close look at their menu, it seems that the people in charge are actually quite serious about their beer. The selection is quite good with a relatively wide range of different styles of beers to choose from. Prices are quite reasonable too. Check out their menu:

I really enjoyed my time at this place and I will certainly be going back. Vancouver needs more of these types of places - not so stuffy and pretentious but with a passion for quality of product and experience. It really was quite surreal.
Good show.
