Incredibly fizzy and spaced-out head, almost immediately disappearing. Oily sheen on top of the body implies particulates and floaties, but it actually looks free of them - just messy.
Huge amount of coffee on the nose, really overwhelming the malt base and any chocolate. Minor notes of cream, brown sugar, molasses, chocolate, and toffee. Strong amount of booze for an 8% ABV beer.
Better blend on the palate, with bitter chocolate blending with the strong amount of coffee and a roasty malt base. It's advertised as a sweet stout, and it's not particularly sweet at all; it's fairly bitter and quite roasty. In fact, all of the flavors are dark, bitter, and roasty, working together well, but not remotely sweet.
Flat and watery feel.

An absolutely phenomenal beer. Very rich in coffee and so smooth. Well done Proof!

Poured from a crowler into a tulip.
A. Pours very dark brown and opaque. Light tan colored 1 finger of head that subsides after half a minute to a film that rests on top of the beer.
S. Aromas of roasted malts, bakers chocolate and coffee. Smells chewy like a tootsie roll or Reisen. Idk how something smells chewy. But that's what comes to mind. Def makes you want to dig in.
T. Definitely get the bakers chocolate on flavor. Would say it is indeed chewy. Some good coffee notes and roasted malts. Get some bitterness in the finish that makes you want to dig in for more. More coffee coming forward as it warms, i'd say more of an espresso.
M. On a scale from 1-10 I give it a 7 on body. Creamy mouth feel that's counteracted with a more than average (IMO) carbonation factor. Slight dry finish.
O. A very nice beer. I'm a fan of dark roasted coffee and this gets it. Nice chocolate but not very sweet which I prefer. Satisfied with this beer and would definitely go for again.

Another one of my favorites from Proof & as of recently they've gotten extremely good at brewing this beer and doing the coffee treatments
look: pitch black with a small caramel head
Smell: rich roasted coffee smell, with notes of dark chocolate, caramel and vanilla
Taste: Same as smell, this is almost like a carbonated and thick cold brewed coffee, with dark chocolate and vanilla, hides the alcohol very well
Feel: is thick and full, the lactose really fills the beer out
Overall: an awesome coffee sweet stout, probably one of my all time favorites.
