Sort of an unknown beast - though I'd vaguely heard of Proof from a friend in Tallahassee. I've been sitting on this bottle for a bit! Kind of silly timing, but I finally opened this fella when weather hit 80 in Minnesota for the first time this year. I'm stupid like that.
Plenty of baked good notes to this beer - lots of cinnamon particularly, a bit of raisin, lots of sugar. The bourbon is certainly present, and the beer has a pleasant warmth to it. Again, quite sweet. Lots of body, a bit more carbonation than your customary stout (it's a porter, duh). Mild hop notes.
It's a goodie - I approve.
