Pours a cloudy amber with faint red hues. Medium sized spongy beige head.
Smells of sweet malt, caramel, some fruit and vanilla. Mild citrusy hop aromas and a tinge of alcohol was noticed.
Bready taste of sweet malt, caramel and a big nutty flavor I didn't pick up in the smell. More like the dry, tannic flavor of the skins. There was some fruit and the alcohol was noticeable but hidden pretty well in the whole. Finished with a sharp hop bitterness.
Medium bodied but thin in the mouthfeel for the style.
A little lighter style of barleywine but not bad. A bit unbalanced, probably just needs a little more time.

Dark brown color. Small head. Aroma is fruity and malty and a touch sweet. A medium bodied barley wine. Malts are nutty and sweet. Hops are mild and slightly piney. Well balanced. Little to no carbonation leads to a somewhat dead mouthfeel. Hides the 10.5% alcohol well. Smooth tasting, very middle of the road barleywine. Not bad, but nothing to make it stand out from 100s of others either. Mouthfeel is a touch thin. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
