Another meh beer from a brewery that seems to be developing an underachiever status. Appearance at first was good with a large, but then rapidly fading, light tan head, a bit of lace, and a clear, brown amber color. Aroma is a faint traditional nut brown. Flavor's like nose, malty, on the dry side, drinkable if it were a bit more interesting. Body is ok. I think they know what the style is, but for some reason, chose to dumb it down. Did a good job with that.

Appearance: Pours a dark amber brown, crystal clear with a one finger off white head. Head disappears rather quickly leaving no lacing and even no ring of bubbles around the sides of the glass. Slight carbonation coming up from the bottom of the glass makes the beer look great considering its clarity and color.
Smell: Smells of sweet, toffee and caramel malts. Neither scent is very assertive, though it doesn't smell like a bad brown.
Taste: Much sweeter than I was expecting for a brown. While this is a malt driven style, I would have liked slightly stronger toffee or molasses notes like I've gotten from other browns to help detract from the sweetness a bit. Overall, not terrible, but nothing inspiring either. Maltier than an amber.
Mouthfeel: Unfortunately thin.
Overall: A decent beer but not one I feel the need to have again. No strong off flavors. Weakest point is the thin body in the mouth.

Little thin on the body, and really a theme for this one. Has good toffee, malts, nuts, brown sugar, etc in taste and smell, but is a little thin in the intensity. And the appearance is a little thin too. Otherwise the beer is a solid brown ale, just needs some beefing up

A - Clear mahogany brown in color, Sloth is topped by a fleeting off-white head that leaves soapy dots of lacing.
S - Caramel and toffee sweetness accompany the smell off liquid malt extract and subtle notes of nuttiness along the finish.
T - Better tasting than it is smelling, Sloth abandons most of it's sugary malt extract flavor for nutty and toasted undertones behind toffee and caramel.
M - Sloth is medium bodied but highly carbonated for a lighter feeling brown that's a little too prickly on the sweet finish.
O - A bit of lazy malt extract aroma plagues Sloth but it's flavor shows more dimension for a smooth and easy drinking brown ale, perfect for a cool fall day.
