on tap at the brewpub in Saint Francis. pours a hazy golden color with a single finger of tight white head that leaves good lacings and has good retention.

aroma is of banana and citrus up front, with a base of wheat malt. a very light spiced note is present in the background. a bit of clove shows itself upon a bit of warming, but other than that the aroma is simplistic.

taste follows the nose with a crisp finish and some residual banana. a pretty standard hefe on the palate. the wheat malt is held back to accentuate the banana, which could be good or bad depending on the palate.

mouthfeel is light bodied with a fresh and crisp texture and a satisfying finish. done well, but still pretty standard for the style.

drinkability is good. a standard hefe that brings the banana to the front. fresh, refreshing, and nicely composed, this brew has nothing special but is still good in the end.

A- Pale cloudy yellow with a one finger head.

S- Banana aromas dominate with subuded peppery yeast notes.

T- Bready malt with an underlying grainyness comes in and holds throughtout without being overly sweet. At mid point the yeast flavors kick up a bit, but the banana that dominated the aroma takes a backseat in the taste allowing the more of the peppery/spicy flavors to come forward. The finish is very smooth and clean.

M- A little on the thin side but otherwise good.

D- Par, for a weiss.

I'll have to grab a growler come summer for long days by the pool.

A: unfiltered, but very hazy and a bit too milky
S: very true-to-type with characteristic banana and cloves, very good
T: good, clean, yeasty, traditional, well-made hefe weizen, a bit sweet but that's where they've been headed for the past 15 years with trying to attract the younger crowd
M: good
D: good, but too sweet for me

It was served hazy, with a yellow hue. It had a one finger head.

It had a balanced scent of banana and clove.

It had a nice banana and clove taste. There was a little hop zing to it. It was medium bodied. It had a clean finish.

It was very drinkable. I thought it was a good beer.
