On tap poured into a small Black Raven pint glass at the brewery. Pours a medium bronze amber with a thin off-white head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of whiskey and light caramel malt. Flavor follows with a pleasant mixture of light caramel malt and whiskey, with just a hint of ginger in the background; finishes semi-dry with light biscuit malt and grassy hops. Light to medium bodied. The light malt body supported the mild whiskey flavors quite well, the ginger was fairly subdued. Nicest whiskey flavors I've had in a lighter ale. Well done and tasty.

Brewer says this is made with caramel, Munich and rye malts. The hops are Northern Brewer and Palisade, and flavored with ginger and golanga root. And finally, aged in rye whiskey barrels. Totally crazy.

This just tastes like a splash of whiskey in a ginger beer. Very fragrant with finger. thin body. Starts out rather sweet and follows along with the big boozy taste. Rather hoppy with quite a bitter aftertaste. Darkly flavored, like a ginger snap, and it even has some of the heat. Lots of the barrel taste.

This flattens out after some sipping. It's just so sharp and tangy. Lemony finish. This gets to be a little too much, but it's worth a try for the experience. On tap at the brewery tap.
