I bought a bottle of Son of Birdserker in a (Kirkland, WA) grocery store. Apparently not retired. I have a bottle with a different label than that pictured. Poured in to a pint glass.
Pours a shiny gold color, clear with a thin white head. Many bubbles are rising in the glass.
Smell is faint, a light pine and bitter grain aroma.
Taste is a bitter dandelion flavor, not a lot of sweetness or fruit flavors.
Mouthfeel is dry, chalky, with a bitter aftertaste,
Overall a fair session IPA. More on dandelion bitterness than citrus or pine.. a little dry and bitter for my taste,

From a bomber into a NB globe
A: golden bright amber, weak 1 finger head that subsides quickly, decent lacing
S: caramel and crystal malt, blueberries, earthy rye and herbal spiciness, as well as some hay and grassy notes
T: almost like an English bitter on the front though there's a little more tingle on the tongue, and then the spiciness and herbal notes that dominate the nose kick in. Nothing too substantial in terms of body but not overly thin either...makes for a nice splash of bitterness and flavor.
M: wet at first, fairly light, with a nice gentle herbal grassy bitterness that ends dry at the end.
Overall, very quaffable and interesting character; hard to guess what the malt and hop bills are. For the style, I'd say it is quite good and fairly unique.

On tap at Eastside Tavern in Olympia the other night.
While this beer is nothing extraordinairy I suppose, considering the low abv., I was impressed by the amount of flavor this "session" IPA delivered. This is beer is very well balannced, with just the right amount of malt sweetness to balance the more than decent amount of hoppy bitterness I get. There's plenty of citrus both on the nose and on the palate, and I was struck by how clean and crisp this was on the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, and while the bartender had advised me that this was a fairly low alcohol, session IPA from Black Raven, I never would have guessed a 5% abv. (I would have guessed a beer in the 7% range, frankly.
Anyway, really enjoyed this one. Had planned to to order a glass of Port Brewing's Hop 15 (always a favorite of mine), but after tasting this, I switched my order. So that's how good I thought this was. Would definitely order this one again.
