I'm getting a burst of tropical, coconut, mango, guava spice at the end tongue of this brew. Its definitely by far my favorite lineup of the Black Raven brews..

I would probably consider this a true American ipa with strong tropical notes and is refreshing because it gives you a break from the hazy, and NEIPA'S..

I get a little cotton candy, nutmeg, and spice at the end of my throat and this is definitely a brew that I'll go back for, but hopefully it will make it's way into my local liquor stores, and I wont have to hunt it down in these rare, hipster beer stores everytime I'm in the mood.. Cheers

16oz canned 3/24 poured into a shaped nonic.

A: Beautiful crystal-clear medium gold with an off-white head and decent lacing.

S: Malty, tropical, smooth, and sweet.

T: Very very balanced; the tropical fruitiness is present but doesn't 'pop' like I assumed it would, but the hop character blends very well with a malty base that borders on caramelly and even gets minorly toasted at times.

MF: Very very smooth and creamy with mild bitterness.

O: A lot like the HUB Joker I tried, this doesn't pop with a whole lot of aromatics or flavors but blends into a very drinkable and balanced IPA which I appreciate, even though its fairly unremarkable.

22oz bottle of the Black Raven's springtime variation on their Trickster IPA. Crystal clear and pale to medium golden amber with a head that quickly falls, leaving a bit of lacing behind. Aroma is fruity and tropical, but relatively mild. This is certainly more fruit juice infused than it is dry hopped with tropical hop varietals. Really bright flavors of pineapple juice and underripe mango, not too sweet at all. Nice balance of fruit and bitterness, with strong carbonation. Not a traditional IPA at all, but hits a profile that is not too far off the mark of a classic AIPA.

Based on my notes I'm enjoying this a bit more than a previous incarnation from Black Raven, Tropical Squawker.
