Served in clear plastic cup at the breweries 1st anniversary party. Poured a deep reddish brown. Being from a cask, the beer was very still, low carbonation and head.
The aroma was very rich, mellow and fruity, with a bit of spicieness from the yeast. The flavors also fit those descriptors, just fuller and more well-rounded. A very tasty beer, the cherries added a nice flavor component without covering up or detracting from the base beer.
The body was very good, full without being heavy, it coated the and lingered without being sticky. Drinkability was also very good, I had a couple of these and would have had more except for the other tasty treats available that day.
Overall, a tasty beer that if you see at a festival, or anywhere else, you should not hesitate to try. Hopefully this brew will become a regular in Black Raven's rotation.
