Cask pour at the City Arms in Manchester. Kinda neat to see a beer in my hometown that was brewed not far from where I used to live in Leeds.
Orange pour with a frothy white head that lays down rings of lacing. Pleasant fruity and floral aroma doesn't bludgeon you over the head, but entices gently. There's also a touch of sweet citrus in there. The flavour is well-done, if not remarkable. A strong fruity malt backbone gives stage to tangerines and oranges. There seems to be a bit of amarillo flavour in there, but whether they used those hops I don't know. A touch sweet for an English IPA, but with a modest level of bitterness. Medium body and carbonation.
A passable beer, and one I enjoyed even if it didn't set the world on fire.
