I think I got this from from the Meindl am Graben in Vienna's city center. However, the Gusswerk beers are relatively easy to get as this brewery is gaining popularity all over the country amongst the craft beer enthusiast.
Now about the beer, the webpage of the brewery tells us that this is basically an IPA brewed with wheat, probably Weizenbier yeast and Strisselspalt hops from the Elsass (France).
While pouring this, I already get lots of not perfectly ripe banana.
Body is a murky orange, fast dissipating white head, looks flat.
While the banana diminishes after time clove gets more prominent, later a citric and herbal hop aroma is noticeably. furthermore pale malts.
Taste is wheat malt, fruity Weizenbier flavors until the hop kicks in with a boom, hops are citric, grapefruit, really as well in the aftertaste.
Body has smoothness from suspended yeast, but carbonation is biting a bit too much, this is definitely not flat as the looks suggest, astringent.
This beer is everything you would expect from a inventive craft brewery, use of interesting hops, out of style brewing (wheat, yeast), lots of layers of flavors and aroma. On the downside, I do not think the flavors are meeting each other in harmony in the taste and the carbonation is weird (no head yet lots of carbonation).
