Poured from 330mL bottle into my Higgins Ale Works tulip. Best by 2/4/26.
Appearance: dark brown hue with a murky body and a finger of frothy tan foam atop.
Smell: sweet malt with a kind of tobacco and shoe leather aroma that might be oxidation, but works here. That being said, it definitely doesn’t read as a dry Irish stout. I do kinda like it, though.
Taste: roasty malt with a combination of some sweetness and the drying effect of the roast. Quite different than the aroma, and I also like it. It’s got an interesting complexity to it; it’s growing on me.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: it doesn’t really feel like an Irish stout, but it’s not a bad beer by any means. Interesting.

Almost black, with mahogany edges. Decent light brown foam.
Toasted smell, hints of coffee.
Dry taste, toasted, coffee, a bit burnt in the end.
Dark malt, a hint of harshness.
Very short aftertaste, very dry.
Smooth and drinkable, ok.
