Picked up at the Biererei in Vienna, the dark brown 33cl bottle sports an orange, green and white label featuring a hop leaf above the name (in English). Ingredients include orange aroma and coriander. The label pushes this product as an all beer answer to a Radler (fresh, fruity, low alcohol). Yeah, it's all of those.
Cloudy orangish yellow (much like a Hefeweizen) under a thin and short-lived off-white 1/2 finger head. The nose has a definite but not dominant orange tone, accompanied by spice and some malt. The mouth is light and quite prickly. Claims to be a Belgian style, and is true to that mold, with a light and fruity taste, the orange complemented nicely by a coriander note. Not much in the way of hops, although a bit of a dry bite does emerge after the swallow. Nice to see an Austrian brewery trying stuff so far out of the mainstream, even if the result isn't spectacular.
