Dark brown with a ruby tinge only near the edge when held to the light. Topped with 2 fingers of thick beige head.
Chocolate, toffee, coffee, mild fruitiness.
Dark chocolate, coffee, aromatic fruitiness.
Medium body, medium smooth carbonation.
Found and drank in CNX. Had April 5th, 2016. Good example of the style, cute label.

Pours black, just tiny brown nuances towards the light, one finger tan head with decent retention.
Smell of sweet chocolate, faint coffee, roasted malts, faint dark fruit esters and spices.
Taste starts with nice chocolate and caramel, roasted grains and faint roasted nuts. There's a bit of juicy plum, some fig and raisin, faint orange, followed fast by some nice dark spices, with cinnamon, vanilla and mild licorice. Finish gets grainier, with a clearer roast, reminding of coffee powder. Mild bitterness.
Medium body and maybe a bit overcarbonated, has a certain crispness and it's sometimes watery. Not a very "smooth stout". Nice aftertaste, a bit sweet, a bit dusted with cocoa and coffee, a bit fruity.
A surprisingly good one, nice flavours, body a bit off.

Dark brown color, almost black. Head fizzes away quickly. Aroma is quite nice with roasty and caramel notes. Taste is kind of hard to detect at first because of the overly high carbonation. Aftertaste lingers with roasty notes. The medium-light body and high carbonation make it not live up to it's name. Not smooth at all.

Bottle purchased at Maruhn's in Darmstadt.
Pours an opaque reddish-black with very little head. What little head there is fades very quickly.
A nice nose of plums, chocolate, and raisins. Reminds me of a tootsie roll...
Very nice round, balanced, and evolving flavor. Despite being a little watery, it is a "smooth stout" in the mouth. Fruity flavors dominate up front, and it moves into a rich chocolate malt and finishes with a very dry burnt coffee flavor.
A nicely done Austrian Stout. I look forward to trying their other offerings!
