It's our take on a Belgian-style IPA brewed with nugget, warrior, and experimental hops. Instead of going for an extreme example, we decided to take a somewhat balanced approach and produced a beer with moderate bitterness accentuated by a light body and dry finish. Open fermentation at a slightly higher temperature than most of our saisons combines the hop aromatics with the yeast profile. The finished beer drinks deceptively easy despite a healthy abv of 7.5%

On draught at The Bier Stein, Smierlap! is hazy pale gold with a small white head leaving clingy Brussels lace.
Smell is mostly tropical fruit esters, accentuated with hoppy citrus, lime. Slight herbal element as well damp moss / old growth forest (in the freshest sense).
Taste is very saison like with a little extra floral note and bitterness from the hops. Delicious. Very refreshing and tasty, the quenching pithy finish of a saison with a little more hops.
Mouthfeel is where the extra hops have the biggest impact, with the oils slightly weighing down the otherwise dry, light body.
Drinkability is awesome, I love this beer. In full disclosure, I not only am an Upright fanboy, but homebrew something similar as my goto beer. There's is better, reminds me a bit of brise bon-bons (although it's been a while since I've had it).
