Had on tap at the brewery. A warming caramel in color, with a light whisper of smoke atop a caramel malt base. Drying finish with some sweet notes. Interesting

Brewery notes say that this one "is arguably our most flavorful beer of the year." Hard to disagree.
There are layers and layers of character here with a deep reddish brown color and nice white head. Nose is floral smoke that is very appealing. Flavors of light bbq, honey, brown sugar, cooked plums, and it keeps going.
This is a very complex beer well worth the try.

Growler from the brewery.
A clear deep garnet with a dense off white head with good retention. The nose is beautiful. Delicate blend of smoke and floral honey, a little bit of buckwheat. A real nice bread/dough character, a smooth lager nose, super clean, nice deep and complex. Layered. The palate opens medium in body, creamy, smooth, moderately sweet with plenty of doughy malt, mild burnt sugar, a real nice blend of honey, fruity snd buckwheat honey. The mid palate is toasty, mildly bitter with a faint hop bitterness. Long mild bitterness on the finish with a little bit of burnt sugar. Really good.
