A clear yellow with a dense, white head with good retention. The nose is excellent. A huge Brett bouquet, spicy, earthy with clove, honey, a mild grainy, wheat note, this is a beautiful barrel aged saison. A delicate lemony fresh hop character is present. The palate opens bright and earthy with a nice Brett character. There's honey, clove, grass, wet hay and a snappy grain character. The freshness of the hops is slightly lost among the barrel and Brett flavors, though a definite lemony hop character is perceived. The palate is fantastic - tight, focused and layered. A faint white wine character is present as well. Quite excellent.
