Scottish Ale is what we would call a pub beer - a brew you'll want to enjoy over several pints. It's full of malt character, with light roast notes and some dark chocolate, while the rest of the profile is straightforward and clean, finishing with an appetizing minerality.

Growler from the brewery.
A deep red/mahogany brown with a dense, light brown head with good retention and lacing, this looks solid. The nose is rich, layered and flavorful, a blend of toasted malt, butterscotch, burnt sugar, a moderate leafy hop character. On the palate, this beer has a considerable heft, much fuller than the low ABV would lead you to expect, and is all the better for it. Layers of butterscotch, toffee, a mild cream note, toasted malt are all present. Drying on the finish with a hint of hops, this beer has a wonderful dextrinous feel. The mouthfeel is quite sublime. Mildly fruity and yeasty as well, this beer is well-executed.
