Roggen Weisse is a Bavarian style hefe made with a blend of rye and triticale in place of wheat, because we're just so tired of all this wheat. Classic weisse yeast fully expresses itself in our open fermenters, showing notes of bubble gum, banana, and clove that go great with the more edgy grains, making for a hugely flavorful beer that finishes dry.

Growler from the brewery.
A clear golden yellow with a dense, white head with good retention and lacing, this looks great. The clarity really brings to mind kristalweizen rather than hefeweizen, but I'm not going to complain. The nose is quite excellent. Lightly fruity and spicy with banana, clove and some mild floral notes, there's also a blend of wheat and a subtle but definite rye note. Lending a delicate, perfumey note, mildly earthy and mildly spicy, this smells excellent. The palate opens clean with a blend of fruity, ripe bananas, well-rounded clove and a mild grainy rye note. The mid-palate has a nice fruity, mildly floral flavor. A hair watery on the finish, this beer has a lingering banana and clove flavor. Quite excellent.
