Borgamot Berliner Weisse was produced for Tinker Tavern, an upcoming neighborhood bar in Montavilla. We took a traditionally brewed Berliner Weisse, aged it in wine barrels with a little apricot, and then finished the blend with bergamot. High acidity and bold aromatics drive the beer, while the barrel profile lends it nuances not common in the style. And yes, we're Star Trek fans.

Crowler from the source.
A clear straw yellow with a dense, white that falls off quickly, this looks solid. The nose is excellent. Remarkably bright and fragrant with tons of citrus depth, there's lemon, lime, Seville orange, kafir lime leaf, a clean straw like wheat note, a light apricot note that pairs beautifully with the citrus, a touch of green grapes. Stunning. The palate opens bright and tart with a clean, refreshing lemonade note with tons of citrus along with a mild grainy wheat note. Really, though, the star of the show is the citrus and it's depth and balance. Oily ,pithy, fruity and clean, there's key lime, bitter orange, ripe lemons and a touch of honey. The touch of white wine and apricot is inspired, elevating this beer with it's subtle touch. Delicately lactic, though this aspect is overshadowed by the citrus notes. Drying, tart on the finish with a strong citrus sourness with just a hint of mineraly white wine, this beer is light in body and moderately carbonated. Quite exceptional.
