Barrel Aged Two Tone shows classic Upright character. A wheat based beer hopped with cascade, el dorado, and citra, the Two Tone underwent open fermentation with our house kveik blend and then spent one year in a few of our best oak barrels, picking up nuanced “wild” notes and tons of minerality to complement the hops and provide a historic finish.

Crowler from the source.
A clear yellow orange with a dense white head that falls off leaving little lacing, this looks solid. The nose is classic Upright but with their newer kviek twist. The brilliance is in how the hops, yeast and barrel lend a continuum of flavors, the origin of which aren't exactly clear. Is the fruit from the hops or the kveik? Is the spice note from the barrels that housed other fruited beers or from the yeast? Definitely spicier and marginally more phenolic, lending a slightly more fusel-like character. The palate opens tart, crisp, fruity and spicy. There's lemon peel, a light apricot note and a blend of allspice and pepper. There's even a Little of grapefruit pith and zest present. Mildly grainy on the midpalate. Drying, fruity on the finish with a lingering barrel funk, a touch of clove and Brett. Light in body and zippy and mineraly, this is excellent.
