On tap at the Upright tasting room 1/17/2010.
Brewed this one-off as a homebrew, and we're lucky he did. Dark brown opaque body, one finger brown head, nice lacing. The nose is malt dominated, chocolate and coffee. The same malts dominate the nose, along with a bit of leather. Not much hop presence, but a bit flowery in the nose. Mouthfeel is a bit sticky, toffee like. Fairly drinkable for the style, not real heavy. Wondering what yeast he used for this, certainly not the Belgian house strain, whose attenuation produces a very dry finish. It's nice to see Alex shake things up a bit with this non-farmhouse offering. Recommended-Get it while you can.
