Willamette Pale is a keg conditioned beer made with English malts, tons of willamette hops, and open fermented with Yorkshire ale yeast. Originally brewed with Brian Keilty of Gorges brewing, we brought this recipe back to serve as our first real ale of 2021!

Cask at Upright in Portland. 3.8%. Dark gold amber. Creamy white head. Nice lace. Aroma leafy and hint of lemon/citrus. Taste leafy and hint of woody/resin/cedar with gentle toasted bread. Overall character is gently on hoppy side but smooth and balanced with balanced gentle bitterness and sweetness. Smooth and highly drinkable. Very like a lighter English bitter/summer ale.

On cask at the source.

A mildly hazy orange with a dense, off-white head with excellent retention and lacing this looks great. The nose has a soft, toasty, lightly doughy malt character, light caramel and toffee. An earthy old school American hop character with grapefruit peel is present. The palate opens soft and creamy with a firm hoppy flavor, earthy and mildly fruity, along with a blend of dough, creamed malt and some fruity hops. Creamy, soft, lovely in the palate, silky smooth and refined.
