NextGen is a blush colored blend of our house wild ale and Bauman’s Loganberry Cider. Three casks of the Ives dating between 25 and 37 months in age lend the beer a lambic-like character, while the sweet cider balances the extreme dryness and acidity of the beer, contributing a lovely pink hue and bright berry flavor.

A clear light pink, not unlike a rose. The nose is wild. The berry cider adds an unabashedly bright and fruity character, with raspberry, cranberry, strawberry and some blackberry. The Ives base is a little whelmed on the nose, with a dry, lactic, mildly nutty, sherry like base. The palate opens tart and clean with a blend of bright berry and dry, mineraly tartness, sharp and acidic. Super floral. Makes me think of a rose spritzer in some way. The acidity is quite noticeable on the palate, with a sharpness of aged lambic-adjacent beer. Minimal funk. Drying, tart, sharp, floral and rich in berry character on the finish. Inspired stuff.
