A blend of two different barrel-aged versions of the Six. One barrel was the luck recipient of one and a half gallons of chocolate syrup specially prepared for us by Alma Chocolate while the second barrel had some Urfa Biber added to it, a very dark sun-dried Turkish chile.

Sample on tap during their open hours. Thanks for taking me there, Frank! From notes.
A: Pours a clear mahogany body; not much head, no lacing.
S: Tart, slightly sour cherries; chili peppers, smoke, sourness (both lactic and acetic), some earth.
T: Tart dark cherries and lactic sourness at first, but it gradually progresses into a huge pepper bite that pulls strongly into the finish. Wow. Now THIS is how you do a pepper beer. Plenty of smoke coupling with an acetic finish. As it warms, some earth and chocolate pulls out and softens the edges of the flavor.
M: Light-medium bodied; medium carbonation. Well disguised ABV, but the peppers bring an entirely different kind of heat to this one.
D: I was really impressed by this. It's both novel AND good.

Had this on tap at Upright Brewery. Review is taken from notes. After talking to Alex about it he confirmed that this beer was actually a blend of two versions of the Six. One of the blend is brewed with chocolate and the other has a Turkish chili called ubib added to it.
On to the review:
This beer pours a nice mostly clear dark brown almost black. A little chill haze is present with very little head and leaves no lacing.
The smell was of a little chocolate, spice, and sour funk. Looking forward to this one.
The taste on this was sour puckering lemon with rye spice. Earthy funk is present in the after taste. Wow does this taste great!
This was extremely easy to drink and the sourness made me want another sip as soon as I finished the previous. Really quite chuggable.
This beer really changed my view on sours. Really the whole Upright lineup was very pleasant. Highly recommended. If they ever bottle this beer it would pair great with a turkey sandwich and become my official day after Thanksgiving beer.
