16oz can. Bottom date stamp is 'CANNED ON 01/13/23'.
Dark brown colored body with a cola brown back lit edge. Rough textured tan colored head which retreats quickly and leaves remnants and stalagmites of lacing. Partial ring lacing left behind is thin but textured.
Aroma is highlighted by chai tea spiced and floral expressions. Even has a touch of coffee, wood bark, and ginger.
Taste has a chocolate influence throughout, with outstanding spice flavors of ginger, cardamom, and a light cinnamon. Has an earthy, malty base, with a black tea infusion. With warming the beer reveals a strong stout standard roasted malt expression with chocolate, coffee, and caramel, and lingering grain.
More than medium mouthfeel, with a chalky/dry but sweet texture. Coats the mouth. Good carbonation.
Certainly expresses the attributes of chai tea.

16-ounce can purchased from ABV in Hillsboro, OR. Date stamp reads "CANNED ON 01/13/23". Poured in a half-pint tumbler.

Look:
Very dark brown body with cola-brown highlights and an unattractive head of loose, coarse beige suds. Poor retention and lacing.

Smell:
Notes of unsweetened cocoa and ginger on a bed of dark roasted malts. Hint of cola. Spices were pretty strong when the can was opened, and diminished while the beer sat in the glass.

Flavor:
Starts with a strong flavor of dark roasted malts and spices that show a greater range than in the nose. Ginger is still the strongest, but there's also black pepper and maybe cloves. Roasty malts lose sharpness through the middle with slight fruity notes of very dark chocolate, a growing earthiness, and a splash of milk. Finishes very dry and roasty with well-integrated spices on the breath.

Feel:
My favorite part of this beer. The body is light and mostly smooth with gentle astringency around the edges. Carbonation is soft.

Overall:
The base beer is drier and more roasty than I generally prefer in a milk stout, but the texture is smooth and appealing. The spices are nicely integrated. I'd love to try a cask version of this one.

cool beer, another one from our visit here that seems outside of what i know them for, the saison types and wild beers, but is also well done. an exceedingly dry stout for a milk stout base, which i love, and bitter too, lots of roast and perhaps some bitterness creeping in from the spice mixture or some tea too, i like that drying effect, especially because the milk sugar thing here is more for texture than sweet balance it seems, more drinkable than most as a result. nice and black in the glass, matte luster, with a short and short lived lighter brown head. the nose on this is subtle, maybe a little too cold when first poured, subtle cardamom and something warmer, maybe cinnamon, but lots of dark roast, espresso grounds type, and some dark cocoa character, wintery without being cozy, if that can be. the flavor is more dynamic and it gets better as it sits. cardamom for sure, a white pepper note, light anise, raisin, turmeric but powdered not fresh to me, galangal maybe, but again subtle and super subordinated to all the roast in here. a definite coffee note there, like coffee and tea together. still cooler rather than warmer profile, a peppery finish with some cocoa, faint smoke, this is pretty dark on the malts, cool recipe, not over spiced, smooth to drink, lighter on the bubbles, wintery, not amazing but upright standards, but tasty and different.
