On tap at Beermongers the other day during their Smoke and Dank event.
The beer pours a blackish brown color with good head retention and lacing. The nose is attractive as well, as I'm getting burnt toast, smoked meat, light black coffee and a hint of underlying dark chocolate. The flavor profile replicates the nose in this impressive beer, with the very noticeable smoke component blending in seamlessly with the underlying dark Czech lager. I was just in Prague several months ago, and Upright really nailed the style with this beer. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a long, moderately bitter/hoppy finish. Alcohol is all but unnoticeable in this excellent beer.
Upright makes a lot of good beer, but this is really a standout, even for them.

On tap at the source.
A deep dark brown with a dense light brown head with good retention and lacing. The nose is soft, toasty, lightly smoky with light caramel and soft Czech lager yeast character. Lightly smoky and toasty on the palate with dark caramel, brown sugar and smoke notes. Drying, smooth, bitter, mild mineral on the finish. Very good.
