Brewed in collaboration with Maritime Pacific brewing company for the 2011 Portland Cheers to Belgian beer fest.
It appears semi-hazy orange with a large foamy white head.
It smells of citrus fruit. I get a mild peppery like and fruity yeasty smell as well. There is a mild grassiness and there is a mild malty sweet smell.
It tastes of citrus fruit. I get a lot of a lemon type of a flavor. There is a potent but not overpowering peppery yeast flavor to the beer. There is mild malt sweetness though it is pretty much overpowered by a very strong hoppy bitter flavor. The brewery calls this a Hoppy Belgian blonde and at the Belgian beer fest it was categorized as a Belgian pale but with that said it is the hop forward Belgian pale I have had.
There is a crisp and light mouthfeel to the beer.
Overall a great refreshing hoppy Belgian beer.
